Join the Board of Directors for the Hamilton Anti-Racism Resource Centre!


We are pleased to announce the call to recruit new Directors to the HARRC Board of Directors, The application process is now open. The Centre is currently looking for candidates who reflect the full diversity of the communities that we serve to fill vacancies on the Board of Directors for a period of two (2) or three (3) year terms, from October 2024-2026/27.


We are looking for individuals with expertise in anti-racism, social work, social justice, law, education, finance, health, nonprofit management, community organizing, accounting, and human resources. Prior board experience is an asset but is not a requirement for these volunteer opportunities.


Key positions available include:

·       Treasurer

·       Board Directors

 

Our current Board of Directors is comprised of individuals with strong community connections from diverse backgrounds who are interested in advancing education about race, racism, discrimination, racial equality, and anti-racist theory and practice in Hamilton.

  1. Call for Nominations -June 24, 2024

  2. Nomination Submission Period: June 24, 2024 - July 15, 2024

  3. Interview process -selected candidates will undergo a due diligence check and be interviewed.

  4. Notification sent to successful candidates to attend Annual General Meeting (AGM)

  5. AGM -October 2024


As a member of the Board of Directors, you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for HARRC.

  • Ensure the organization’s financial health and sustainability.

  • Advocate for HARRC’s mission and values within the community.

  • Support fundraising and community engagement efforts.

  • Contribute to policy development and organizational governance.

  • Participate in regular board meetings and serve on committees as needed.
